Discover the true power of a facial!

Facials have been an active part of a healthy skincare routine for hundreds of years. Even the beautiful Cleopatra was known to have used egg white as a face mask. Nowadays, when we talk about facials, we are talking about treatments which include steam, exfoliation, extraction, creams, lotions, facial masks, peels, and massage. Unlike our daily skincare routine, a facial performed by an expert can shower you with a number of fabulous results.

Cleansing: the deep cleansing process from a professional facial removes all traces of bacteria that can lead to skin issues (like acne for example). Furthermore, pores will be thoroughly cleansed (often all blackheads removed) and a careful exfoliation will remove dead skin cells, revealing softer, smoother skin.
Rejuvenation: the exfoliation starts the process and the mask and massage will enhance it further, helping the flow of oxygen-enriched blood to skin cells to help nourish them and reduce the signs of aging and fatigue. Healthier, more radiant skin is revealed and ensuring you take time for regular facials will help to keep your skin looking it’s best.
Anti-Aging: Speaking of looking younger, facials are a great way to help slow down the aging process. Ask your facial expert for specific anti-aging creams to be used if you are particularly concerned about wrinkles and ensuring you promote collagen production to improve the elasticity of your skin. At Bem Estar we recommend products like The Ageless Collection from Image Skincare.
Skin problems: Facials are a very effective way to treat skin issues like acne, blackheads, sun damage, sun spots, rosacea, wrinkles, scarring, sagging skin/loss of elasticity and many more. Choosing the right facial together with an expert from Bem Estar can help to minimize or completely treat any skin issues you may have.

Get a skin workout while you sleep!

After a busy day, your skin uses its natural magic to rejuvenate overnight. However, sometimes…actually very often…our skin needs some help (especially the older we get). Many high-quality night creams are specifically designed to enhance this natural process by boosting the skin with moisture and also targeting specific skin concerns like fine lines. The best part is that all of this is happening while you sleep soundly in your bed. So what are the right night creams for you? If fine lines and signs of aging are bothering you then The Ageless Collection from Image Skincare has an amazing Overnight Retinol Masque which is wonderful for reducing wrinkles and improving the appearance of skin imperfections. The hydrating repair crème from The Vital C Collection is perfect boosting your skin with vitamins A, C & E, as well its antioxidant benefits. Ask a Bem Estar expert for more advice on the right night cream for your skin.

Scrub Up for Younger Looking Skin!

Old skin cells have a habit of building up if they are not removed. Aside from leaving your skin looking dull and tired, this can also lead to a number of different skin irritations, including acne. Exfoliating your skin should absolutely be part of your regular skincare routine at home. We really like The Clear Cell Collection from Image Skincare at Bem Estar for both exfoliating and preventing a build-up of harmful bacteria. The Max Collection is also fabulous as it visibly rejuvenates, regenerates and revitalizes dull, aging skin to restore a youthful, luminous appearance.

5 tips on how NOT to wash your face!

#1…NEVER go to bed without removing make-up or skip your morning cleanse.
#2…NEVER forget to moisturize. Make sure you pick the right moisturizer for your skin. Ask a Bem Estar professional for advice.
#3…NEVER scrub too hard or exfoliate more than 1-2 times a week. This can lead to small tears in your skin’s top layer causing inflammation and other skin issues.
#4…NEVER leave it too long before replacing your towel – they are perfect for spreading bacteria. Use a clean and fresh towel as often as possible.
#5…NEVER dry your skin too roughly. Always PAT DRY your skin to prevent stretching the skin. Stretched skin = wrinkles.
