Frequently Asked Questions
Hair Removal FAQ
Are there any exceptions?
The E-Light 700 will work on all hair types (including blonde and gray) and skin colors.
Is it really safe?
Yes, it is completely safe.
The light penetrates a few millimeters deep into the skin.
Only if there is a root hair, the light is converted into heat and does its job.
There is no guidance to other tissues.
It is impossible that lymph or sweat glands will be near the damaged hair follicles.
Does it hurt?
When the flash reaches the hair root may feel a slight tingling sensation.
The feeling is similar to an elastic band that is gently shot against the skin.
There may be some redness after treatment but that disappears quickly and causes no lasting problem.
How long does it take?
The duration depends on the surface to be treated as the flash covers an area of 10 by 4 centimeters.
It depends on the location and density of hair growth.
Approximately 30% of body hair in its growth phase.
The remaining hair is in the transition phase or resting phase and can not absorb light. During each treatment, approximately 60 to 90% of the hair (which is in the growth phase) is removed. Ladies Legs usually takes about a half hour for treatment.
Upper lip or chin is of course much faster.
May I go in the sun or use a tanning bed?
From about 2 to 3 weeks for treatment and throughout the course, avoid the solarium and sun as much as possible.
If the sun can not be avoided, you must use a sunblock with an SPF higher than 30.
After an intensive summer vacation, 6 weeks of treatment should be postponed. After it is better to avoid the sun or tanning beds for at least 1 week.
Can I use self-tanning cream?
Self-tanners contain a substance that reacts with light, it is best not to use them for one week before or after treatment.
If I have a birthmark is treatment possible?
Yes, waxing on moles is possible, but only on “quiet” birthmarks, they should not be itchy and must be regular in shape and color.
Can I use deodorant after treatment?
No, I recommend you wait at least half a day to use deodorant.
How quickly will I see results?
The affected hairs are loose in the hair shaft and it takes a few days to several weeks for the hairs to be entirely gone.
It takes a while before the remains of the epidermis is removed.
How many treatments are necessary?
A new treatment can begin only when the hair has reached the growth phase.
Between treatments an interval of 4 to 8 weeks should be maintained.
On average there are 5 to 9 treatments to get a good result.
Are there any age restrictions?
The E-Light 700 is suitable for people of all ages.
In adolescence, it may be less useful because the hair has just started, but still possible.
Are E-Light 700 treatments are reimbursed by my insurer?
Many insurers offer the possibility of a reimbursement.
Whether this applies to you is you will need to ask your insurer.
Are these treatment suitable for men and women?
The E-Light 700 is suitable for both men and women.
Is treatment always successful?
Disturbances in the hormonal balance, which may be caused by puberty, pregnancy, lactation, menopause, certain medications or diseases can have an affect on how successful the treatment is in each individual.
Why do I see such a range in prices for laser treatment?
Our prices are often much more competitive.
One salon will have to deal with leasing / financing of the unit, the other salon has to do with personnel-rent / mortgage costs.
There are also systems where a salon attached to a supplier / manufacturer.
These costs are passed on to the customers.
All this does not apply to me – I can control the prices, and keep things affordable for the client.
