Vascular lesions are blood vessels that are visible through the skin. They are often referred to as spider veins, port wine stains, and birthmarks. They can occur on almost any part of the body, but are especially common on the face or legs. The harmless lesions look blood-colored and often have a red or purple tint.
Unfortunately, the stigma connected to this skin condition can make it hard to live with.
So What Can You Do?
It is important to know that just because you have a vascular lesion, it does not mean that it MUST be removed. The majority of lesions are completely harmless but if in doubt, please always seek the advice of a vascular professional. However, if removing a vascular mark is something you would like to do, then the good news is that the treatment can be VERY effective.
How Does The Laser Work?
Bem Estar works together with Alma Laser, leading aesthetic laser technologists. The Harmony Dye-VL and Dye-SR laser treatments are the method of choice for the removal of the appearance of vascular lesions. The lasers are directly applied to the entire area of the blemish. The veins and vessels of the lesion absorb the laser’s energy while the surrounding skin tissue does not. The treatment causes the exposed vessels to break down and become less visible.
